The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

I’m definitely in a Harry Potter mood at the moment! So let’s go with the flow and dive deeper into the Harry Potter world, shall we? Because I just read an article on Bookstr that combines two of my great loves in life: Christmas and Harry Potter!

It’s an article about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, an attraction in the Universal Orlando Resort dedicated to Harry Potter. There are currently 6 rides, a mix of roller coasters and simulations. Besides that, you can find a few restaurants and gift shops. The cool thing? They are modeled after real locations in the book series! The biggest attractions are the village of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. In Hogsmeade, you can dine in the Three Broomstricks, zoom by Hagrid’s hut and shop for sweets in Honeydukes. Next up is Hogwarts itself, wandering through the classrooms and corridors and soaring above the castle will be unforgettable! In Diagon Alley, you can walk through the streets of London and enter the magical shopping street that is Diagon Alley. Stop by the Leaky Cauldron for a drink, be chose by your wand at Ollivanders and collect money at Gringotts.

I’ve only been to America once, and that was a one-week city trip in New York. But now I’m thinking I need to go to Orlando. For this Harry Potter theme park alone, but I believe there’s also a Disney World-thing nearby, right? Anyway, Christmas-time seems like the perfect place to go. Yes, remember the article? It’s not just about this theme park…

Hold on to your hats, because The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is getting a seasonal makeover! As of November 18th, 2017, it will be doused in Christmas spirit until January 6th, 2018. Hogsmeade and neighboring shops will be decked out with holiday decorations. Food, drinks, and entertainment will also be holiday-themed. The Hogwarts castle will turn into a light projection spectacular featuring memorable Christmas moments from the Harry Potter movies. The gift shops will be selling custom-made Christmas ornaments and nighttime will bring about musical arrangements. And, best of all, Butterbeer will be available in The Three Broomsticks. Ready to go?
