Quiz: Can you put the Harry Potter characters in the correct squares?

I was looking for interesting book quizzes, when I stumbled upon this amazing quiz from Sporcle: the Avada Kedavra Logic Puzzle. Wow, this was one heck of a difficult quiz! This took me a while and I won’t even tell you the amount of times I had to start over because a wrong answered sent the Killing Curse my way. I eventually took pen and paper, copied the square and filled in everything I knew to be true and the clues that I had for the empty squares. A good amount of guessing (f.e. Molly’s youngest children are mentioned, so 4 guesses later) and googling (f.e. all Harry’s Defense Against The Dark Arts teachers, everyone killed by Voldemort, the names of Tonks’ parents, …) got me to the complete square. I’m pretty proud of myself! I cheated majorly, but I got there eventually!

Normally when I look at quizzes, I copy the questions and answers so you have a better sense of what you are going to get. Since that is rather difficult here, let me explain the quiz. So it’s a logic-based quiz that starts you off with just one clue:

This clue tells you that Bellatrix Lestrange was killed by the person in B3 – which obviously is Molly Weasley (“Not my daughter, you bitch!”). She killed the person in D5, which could be: Sirius Black, Nymphadora Tonks or Dobby. The clue about everyone being killed by the same person, led me to Voldemort since I guessed he was the only one to have killed 5 and ordered the death of (at least) 1. Anyway, every correct name you put in the other squares gives you new clues. Molly Weasley, for example, led to this:

And so on and so forth. Like I said, it took me a while, but I got there in the end and it was so gratifying when that entire square was filled! Let me know how long (or how many tries) it took you! Apparently, the average score is 22% and the score distribution is below. Obviously, not a lot of people stick it out to the end, so that makes me even happier. I like being in the 99th percentile, especially when it comes to Harry Potter!
