Faiz Kermani‘s latest book, The Toad Who Loved Tea, is still about toads, though this time the main character is a toad who is absolutely crazy for tea. Tungtang wants adventure beyond her muddy pond and decides to go into town, with the humans. There she smells and tastes the most wonderful of beverages: tea. She ends up at Queen Catherine’s Olde English Tea Shoppe, ready to fulfil a prophecy, long told amongst the other toads.
Aren’t you full of curiosity
To meet the toad who loves tea?
It’s remarkable, don’t you think
That she can advise you on what to drink?
I’ve heard she has impeccable taste
And lets nothing go to waste
They say that when she inhales the tea vapour
She can immediately tell you the flavour
So let us visit our amphibian friend
And see what she can recommend
For whatever teas we may choose
She is sure to give us her views
I hear that she happens to reside
Deep in the English countryside
So let us be on our way
And hear what she has to say!
This is another highly original and fun story by Kermani. The chapters are short, filled with dialogue and even a few songs, making it perfect to read to your children at night. This children’s comedy book is fit for children between the ages of 7 and 11 but will also appeal to animal friends of all ages. It was published on January 28th, 2018 and is 62 pages long.
